Who Are You and Why Are You Reading This?
So here you are and here I am. Now that we have established this, the next question is who are you and what brought you to my little domain of consciousness? Seriously. I want to know.
And fair is fair. I’m here really because of an article I read in Wired Magazine called The See-Through CEO (April 2007) and it’s all about the new buzzword – Radical Transparency. The premise is that companies let their hair down along with most of their inner workings and make it all known to the world or any one who cares…and this is good for business. I’m a hypnotist; not marketing exec. or even a CEO (sole proprietor, thank you), but I figured it was worth a shot. So here I am. And as I go, I’ll blog about the daily “ins and outs,” the issues, the problems (you can share in my hair-pulling out experiences), my triumphs, my questions and my answers. And we’ll see how it goes.
So, go ahead, take a deep breath, open your eyes and here we go.

Just found this blog through a posting on alt.hypnosis, and I guess I'd answer the question about who I am and why I'm reading this as follows:
I'm a few weeks shy of the big 4-0, I've been studying hypnosis for over 30 years, I have many subjects I work with on a regular basis, my Wife being my best one (and she's deaf, go figure - I am not), and hypnosis is a passion of mine.
So anytime I find someone with good info to share, or learn from, or possibly even to teach since we're all students and teachers, I'll toss my hat in the ring, so to speak.
I know you're just getting started with the blog, but so far so good.
And thank you for sharing your thoughts, experiences, and insights.

That's very amazing about your wife. If you don't mind me asking, how to you work with her using hypnosis?
At first since we met online (seriously) it was through chat - text-based hypnosis is just as real and effective as being next to someone in a recliner, as long as the subject is responsive and willing and the 'tist knows what they're doing (ok, I'm tooting my own horn there).
She gradually got a webcam so I could witness her and make sure things were ok from my end, then we spent many months building our relationship. I visited her at her home in Maryland for a weekend; she visited me at mine in VA for a weekend the following month, I proposed in January 2005 and we married on (get this) May 5th, 2005 - so we're coming up on our 2nd wedding anniversary in 5 days.
The fact that our wedding date was 05-05-05 was all my doing. :) Wanted something to remember, and while the rest of the world at large might be celebrating May Day (in Russia or what's left of it), or Cinco De Mayo in places that Mexico might laugh at, we celebrate our wedding. :D
Over time and being together I just use verbal suggestions now because she reads lips exceptionally well, and actually prefers to speak to people instead of using sign language the majority of the time.
