A Little Saturday Fun With Max and Sam

It's Saturday, a day sorely needed. So rather than being complete ho-hum serious I thought I'd take a peek at interesting references to anything hypnosis.

That brings me to Sam and Max and the evil Lincoln robot. I could go into a long description about this and what it is (comic book characters and video game), but I won't. Rather I though I'd piece in a description about their latest game as quoted by www.bit-tech.net:

Still, the quick lowdown plot wise is that some mysterious and as yet unmasked over-arching baddie has been using hypnosis to try and achieve world domination throughout the first season. As a result of their attempts to rescue the nation from a hypnotic Abe Lincoln robot in episode four, Max the maniacal rabbit has been installed as President because of him immunity to hypnosis.
Oh dear, such a powerful tool as hypnosis in the wrong hands...

If you're looking for interesting but obscure (or totally blatant) references to hypnosis in any and all forms of media, I'd welcome you to stop by the Hypnosis in Media website

I'm in the process of converting it into Wiki format and rebuilding it almost from the ground up, but there still is some interesting material there.

Plus, I wasn't familiar with the Max & Sam game (although I am familiar with the characters) so I will have to add it to the listings. Thanks for the info.

Thanks! I'll definetly check it out. Did you find the infromation on Max and Sam? There is also a new game coming out, but I've apparently blocked it out, that is all about someone's journey into the hypnotic state. Does this sound familiar?

Haven't heard of any such game but I'd be interested to learn more about it if such a thing is in progress. I know over in Japan the "mind control" and hypnosis theme is using extensively in a lot of anime stuff (movies, actual comic books, etc).

But hey, that's the fantasy aspects of it - might not be what the "establishment" wants people to believe or think, but I for one find it easy to let go sometimes and just have fun with it. :p

The establishment...true, true. But sometimes I think we just have to let go. Do any of you remember an old Batman cartoon, where it may have been the joker who used a frequency to hypnotize the world and take it over? I was five when I saw it so the memory may be a bit distorted. Perhaps then I wanted to take over the world (well, really, I wanted to be Queen), but I still remember it fondly as a possible trigger to my interest. And if that lead me to the path I'm currently go, its all good. Put enough mystique into something...
